Kitty is a Licensed Professional Counselor that maintains a private practice in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also a Motivational Speaker that is passionate about helping victims of domestic violence overcome their trauma and abuse issues. Kitty's goal is to help women build their self-esteem, confidence, and learn to love themselves through reflective soul work and other techniques so they can live a happy healthier life. Kitty has been in the mental health field for several years and practicing therapy for eight years. She has worked in school settings, day treatment programs, and as an outpatient clinical therapist. She has experience working with children, adults, couples and families.
Kitty has spoken at events such as At Girls Promise Conference, Black Women and Mental Health, Spring Refresher, encouraging and empowering women to overcome trauma and abuse, Suicide Prevention, Women's Conference on Mental Illness and was honored at the Power of Faith 2nd Annual Conference for making a difference in the community. Kitty was featured on "The Everything Purpose Radio Talk Show" discussing Christian perspective on how to deal with societal stress, systematic marginalization and racial tension in our world today. Kitty was also featured on Real Life, Real Care presented by The Care Clinic at John Brown University, Hosted by Dr. Barry Wingfield, "Single Adulting: Loneliness, Dating, Loss and Motivation" Kitty was also a contributor for an online magazine Your tango. In 2018, Kitty presented her first conference to the community, "The Healing and Empowerment Conference" in hopes of helping women that have experienced domestic violence start their journey of healing.
Kitty graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is Licensed to practice therapy in the State of Arkansas.
Kitty's theoretical approach comes from a Holistic approach with interest in engaging and developing the whole person. Her focus is on healing the person emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. She also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Reality Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Kitty is also trained in EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a form of psychotherapy designed to diminish negative feelings associated with memories of traumatic events. EMDR was developed to treat the symptoms of PTSD, Anxiety and Phobias.
